It was such an amazingly sunny day this Sunday in Montreal. My friend Ron asked if myself and my girlfriend Danielle were free to for heading down to the Old Port to check out the clocktower. I have a love hate relationship with the clocktower… I love shooting there, but I hate that one of my fave photos from years ago was lost in a hard drive crash. More on that in another post as I think I got pretty close to the shot I’m after…
So Dan and I got there a bit early to walk the streets and snap some photos. After many weeks of photo work, it felt so great to be out and about, totally free to shoot what I wanted. From street photos, architecture, joking around and having fun.
After meeting up with Ron, or actually, him sneaking up on us trying to get some covert candid shots, we headed out for the tower. But seems that no one was safe from my lens. Spotting some girls trying to do an in the air jumpshot (their friend trying to capture it on her iphone), I… uh… .volunteered my services to make the shot. 🙂 A few jumps later, I handed them my card and told them to just email me to get the photo :). You have to just have fun sometimes, right?
We got to the clocktower and made our way up the 192 stairs. Took our time, found some open windows to shove our cameras through to take some shots without having to deal with dirty windows.
Headed out, back into the port, grabbed something to drink, sat and just enjoyed people watching, chatting and laughing. And yep, still took a few more photos. I highly recommend people just head out and have some fun. Don’t bring your full set of lenses. Don’t go all crazy for shots. Just walk and enjoy the day, and you’d be surprised at what images you’ll come home with 😉
Now time to take care of this little sunburn… and we were only there for a few hours… damn this easily burnt skin :/
